It’s a brand new year! As we move into 2022 we often look back on the previous 365 days. Boy, 2021 was another year full of challenges and surprises, wasn’t it?

In this article, you’ll read

  • Lessons learned from 2021

  • A spin on New Year’s resolutions

  • My hope for you in 2022

Lessons from 2021

We certainly placed high expectations on 2021, hoping it would clear out the fear and uncertainty of 2020. But the year was still filled with uncertainty for many as we all navigated a new reality. Below are 10 lessons from the year – from those around me, with a few of mine thrown in.

  1. We must learn to prioritize.

  2. We must be present each day, as you never know what the next day will bring.

  3. We must commit to staying connected.

  4. Stress and anxiety are no joke and have a strong impact on our minds and bodies.

  5. We must be flexible because you never know what will be out of stock.

  6. Continue to be kind to yourself.

  7. There are different levels of comfort, and that is okay.

  8. We are tired of Zoom, even though it’s a great way to stay connected.

  9. “Normal” is ever-changing.

And perhaps the biggest one….your health, wellness, and loved ones come above all else!

A Spin on New Year’s Resolutions

Moving into the New Year often comes with New Year Resolutions for the next 365 days. I’ve done them. Failed. Sometimes came up with another, but then soon it fell to the wayside. If you’re anything like me, pressure came with a New Year’s Resolution. Who’s need more pressure? Not you. Not me.

Instead of setting a “resolution” consider setting an intention for the new year. This intention can guide you throughout the year. It can come in the form of a word or phrase, or whatever feels best for you. It can serve as a focus or a reminder for you.

This year I have 2 related phrases for my intention for 2022…

  • Progress not perfection

  • Everything is figureoutable (a phrase coined by Marie Forleo that I find incredibly helpful).

My intentions will guide me and be a good reminder whenever I feel….”stuck”. They will help me in my personal life, business, and my health and wellness.

What I hope for you in 2022

My hope for you as you move into 2022 is that you find a way to prioritize your health and wellness. Lots of reasons can make this so darn difficult. You have a busy career, a household to keep running, kids to raise, aging parents to care for, or sick loved ones to help.

I get it. I really do.

Where in the heck do you start?

You begin exactly where you are.

Not where your friend is, or someone you follow on Instagram. Moving forward from where you are is the only way to go. We all start at different places, and that is okay.

Referring back to a 2021 lesson, give yourself some kindness and keep moving forward.

I want to continue to serve you in the best way I can. I would be very grateful if you would fill out this 2-question survey. You will help me gain insights and it will only take a minute of your time.

Here’s to a fruitful 2022!

let's be friends

Hey, I'm Sabrina, and my mission is to empower women to feel strong in their bodies and minds. My journey began when I refused to accept being dismissed about my health concerns and discovered the power of small, consistent actions. Inspired by my grandma's determination to stay active and my own challenges with hypothyroidism, I learned the importance of taking control of our well-being. I understand the frustration and doubt many women feel because I've been there myself. Through empathy and authenticity, I help women navigate the overwhelming world of health information, breaking it down into simple steps to support physical and brain health. Let's rediscover your vitality and empower you to live your best life, one step at a time.

I'm a movement & brain health coach & I believe in you.

I'm Sabrina — your cheerleader & wellness mentor.
